Listening

I can understand words and phrases, I can recognise about words about me, my family and my surroundings if spoken clearly and slowly.

I can understand phrases if they are related to me and the words used often.

(For example; Main personal and family related information, shopping, local surroundings, occupation) I can gather short, basic dialog and basic thinking with senses.

I can understand main points in a standard conversation which are come across at work, school, in spare time etc. I can understand the main points of radio and television programs regarding current events, or my personal interests, if spoken slowly and clearly.

As long as it is a current topic, I can follow long conversations and presentations, I can follow debates in complex sentences. I can understand most of the television news and programs regarding current events. I can follow most of the films as long as standard language is used

 

I can understand long conversations even though they are not constructed clearly and are not obvious but just implied. I can understand television programs and films without much difficulty.

I don’t find it difficult to understand conversation if it is live or recorded. Only if it is in a normal mother tongue speaking speed, I might need time to get adjusted to the accent.

Reading

I can understand familiar names, words and very simple sentences in written texts, in catalogues, announcements or banners.

I can understand short and simple texts. I can grasp  general information in advertisements, user manuals, menus and time schedules and short personal letters.

 

I can understand texts that consist of common words used in daily language or regarding occupations. I can understand events, emotions and wishes in letters.

I can read long and complex, non-fictional or fictional texts while distinguishing the genres; I can understand professional articles and long technical information even if they are not of interest to me..

Conversation

I can communicate in a simple way if a person is repeating himself/herself in a slow speaking speed and helping me in telling what I want to say.

I can ask questions and answer if I need to or in fields regarding common topics.

I can communicate regarding common topics and activities needing direct knowledge exchange and common and basic jobs. Even though generally I may not understand enough to  have a flowing conversation I can have a short conversation.

I can travel the countries where that language is spoken and manage almost every situation that might occur. I can speak without much preparation about common things if they are  my point of interest or regarding daily life.  (For example; family, hobbies, occupation, travelling and daily events).

 

I can communicate in a language I have learnt naturally and flowingly  with native people.  I can take an active role in discussions and common subjects by expressing and supporting my ideas.

I can express myself naturally and fluently without searching for words often. I can use a language for social and occupational purposes flexibly and efficiently. I can express my feelings and ideas openly and can associate with other people’s conversations.

I can give detailed and clear information regarding a variety of subjects that interest me. I can state my opinion about a topic by putting forward the positive and negative sides of different alternatives.

I can describe complex topics clearly and in detail by expressing sub themes, and conclude with an appropriate ending by adding a point of view.

I can build up my speech efficiently and logically with an appropriate style for every topic and help the listeners to identify and remember the important points. I can present a fluent description or opposite opinion.
